History

Two Rivers Salon & Spa has been setting the standard for excellence in the nation’s salon and spa industry for over 10 years now. Opened in 2000, then only a day spa, Two Rivers occupied a mere 2,000 square foot location with roughly 10 employees. Two years later, owner Stephanie Baker realized she had quickly outgrown the space and moved to 5,000 square feet adding a salon and becoming Two Rivers Salon & Spa. Fast-forward eight successful years, add a remodel and another 2,500 square feet, and you have an expansive business that boasts 15 styling chairs, 10 spa treatment rooms and 16 nail stations, overlooking the surrounding Boise River.

Two Rivers Salon & Spa has become the premiere salon and spa of the Treasure Valley and recognized as one of the top salons nationally. Two Rivers Salon & Spa was named Salon of Distinction and among the Top 20 in the Salon Today Salon of the Year 2011 competition and has been featured in numerous articles such as Salon Today’s “Architects of Design: A Tale of Two Rivers”. Two Rivers Salon & Spa has been the winner of numerous local awards including the Idaho Statesman “Best Day Spa” in 2010 and 2011 and “Best Local Spa” by Boise Weekly magazine. The salon and spa are known for participating in and supporting local events and charities including, but not limited to, annually donating to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation, doing hair and makeup for the Saint Alphonsus Festival of Trees fashion show and donating a main auction package for the past several years, raising money for the Women’s & Children’s Alliance, and participating in local school and community fundraising events.

About Us

Owner Stephanie Baker was born and raised in Boise Idaho. In 1993 she graduated from Borah High School then with her sights set on a future in business, she left for Seattle to attend the University of Washington. While attending college, Stephanie worked at Frenchy’s Day Spa where her love for the industry began and grew over the next five years as she worked her way up from front desk receptionist to manager. In 1998 she graduated with a degree in economics and finance and returned to Boise where she continued to pursue her dream to open an upscale day spa.

In 2001 Stephanie married local entrepreneur Matt Baker and they are now proud parents to two beautiful children, Charlie and Olivia. Together, Stephanie and Matt make up a strong but busy parenting and business duo. On top of managing the salon and spa, Stephanie maintains an active presence in her children’s daily activities, running around from gymnastics to wrestling, hosting play dates and planning birthday parties. Matt works full time with his father for their family real estate development company in Idaho and Utah. He is also active in numerous community organizations including serving in board member capacities for North Channel Property Association, Idaho Trust Bancorp and the Bronco Athletic Association.

Matt and Stephanie enjoy traveling around the world and discovering new ideas and inspiration. Their goal is to provide Southwest Idaho with a unique, luxurious metropolitan experience, reminiscent of salons and spas in New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
